Zapier has announced a new set of enterprise AI governance features aimed at helping organizations scale AI usage with more consistent controls, oversight, and interoperability. The update responds to a common enterprise challenge: moving from early AI pilots to broader production use without creating security, compliance, or operational bottlenecks.
Key updates announced include:
- Workspaces for team-level boundaries with organization-wide guardrails
- App Connection Controls to limit which apps can be connected and restrict OAuth to approved corporate domains
- BYOM and MCP support to give teams more flexibility across models and AI systems, alongside a use-case template gallery
- Log Streams for real-time Zap run events in tools such as Grafana, supporting audit trails and alerting
- Zapier SDK access to help teams build faster with governed authentication across Zapier's app ecosystem
Zapier tied the launch to findings from its Enterprise AI Governance Report, which said 93% of leaders have seen AI initiatives stall because of governance issues, with teams losing more than nine hours per month to delays. The company also promoted a public event on April 23 focused on AI deployment, adoption, and governance.
For small business owners and builders, these changes show how workflow automation platforms are adding more administrative controls as AI use expands. While the launch is enterprise-focused, the broader shift toward reusable guardrails and better observability is relevant for any team managing shared AI workflows.
