Live: OpenClaw for Beginners

OpenClaw has pretty much broken then internet over the past 6 weeks. The question is - is the hype real and should we all be buying Mac Minis and handing the keys to our lives to an AI agent? This session will explore this and many more questions with the help of legendary AI tinkerer [Tanveer Mohammed](https://x.com/idonotwritecode). ## **What is OpenClaw?** It's an open-source AI assistant that runs in the cloud or locally, interacts with you via Telegram or Whatsapp, connects to all your stuff, and can browse the web, manage files, and run tasks for you all from a chat message. Basically a capable AI teammate you can text any time. ## **What's this session about?** I wanted to put together a session for anyone who's been curious about personal AI assistants but hasn't actually set one up yet. Or maybe, like me, you've set one up but are nervous to use it. Tanveer is going to walk us through getting OpenClaw running from scratch, and share some really practical advice on using it well and keeping things secure. ## What we'll cover * Getting started: what you need, how to set it up, and your first conversation (no Mac Mini needed) * Best practices: how to use it, when to use it (and when not to), and getting consistent results * Security: how to keep your setup safe * The good stuff: real use cases and the most useful things people are actually doing with it right now ## **About Tanveer** Tanveer has over a decade of experience in AI and tech, working across finance, retail, healthcare, and public sectors. He's led teams on global projects with major institutions and Fortune 500 companies, and he's got a really practical, grounded approach to making AI tools actually useful. Really glad to have him leading this one. ## **About Create With** We're a [community](https://createwith.com/join) for builders, makers, and anyone using AI and no-code tools to ship real things. We run events, workshops, and the Create With Conference in Brighton. No sales pitches, just honest conversation about what's working. Whether you're brand new to AI assistants or you've been meaning to try OpenClaw and just need a nudge, come along.
