Vercel shipped quicker static deployments, four AI Gateway models, more free domain choices and new CLI controls in late October. The changes cover developers testing sites, managing build costs and running AI workloads, plus Pro teams claiming domains. The model releases follow Vercel’s mid-October AI Gateway updates.
Vercel Drop Without an Account
Vercel Drop now accepts static site files, folders and ZIP archives without requiring an account. Anonymous deployments expire after one hour unless the user signs in or creates an account to keep the site live.
Mammoth-1 and Elephant-1 Join AI Gateway
Baseten’s Mammoth-1 and Elephant-1 decision models joined AI Gateway free for one week, through 27 October. Mammoth-1 has 27B parameters, Elephant-1 has 9B, and both provide a 16k-token context window for classifying text, routing requests and scoring content against set criteria.
Mammoth-1 ranks first on the Jev Decision Index, while Elephant-1 is tied for first on the Artificial Analysis Decision Index. Developers can call them through the AI SDK as baseten/mammoth-1 and baseten/elephant-1.
Eight More TLDs Qualify for a Free Pro Domain
The expanded Pro domain offer adds .co, .studio, .company, .info, .pro, .live, .digital and .agency, taking the eligible total to 16 TLDs. Each Pro team can claim one non-premium domain free for one year, with automatic renewal at the regular checkout price afterwards.
Kimi K3.1 Pro Models Join AI Gateway
Kimi K3.1 Pro and Kimi K3.1 Pro Highspeed from Moonshot AI are now available through AI Gateway. Both accept images, offer a 1M-token context window and can handle coding, 3D modelling, financial analysis and agentic tasks through the AI SDK, Chat Completions, Responses and Anthropic Messages APIs.
Use moonshotai/kimi-k3.1-pro or moonshotai/kimi-k3.1-pro-highspeed as the model name.
Vercel CLI Accepts Feedback
The new vercel feedback command sends bug reports, friction reports and feature requests from the terminal. Builders and coding agents can pipe in content or attach structured key=value context using -f or --field, including the task, expected behaviour and actual outcome.
Deployments Show Build Cache Size
Deployment summaries now show saved build cache size, including how close the cache is to the build machine’s limit. The data also appears in Vercel CLI v65.1.0 and later, and through the get-deployment REST API endpoint.
Uploading the cache counts as billable build time, while a cache over the limit is discarded. The display is on by default across all plans for deployments built on or after 21 October 2026.
Vercel CLI Adds Spend Management
Spend Management is now available in the Vercel CLI, where vercel budgets can show current spend, set or remove budgets and list alert history. Teams can pause production deployments when spend reaches 100%, filter alerts by date, threshold or amount, and manage the same On-Demand Budget found in billing settings through scripts and agents.
