Zapier Adds Create Multiple Records to Tables

Create Multiple Records in Zapier Tables can now turn each line item from an order into a separate record. A 12-product order can become 12 rows, rather than one record containing the full order.

The action supports line items and creates up to 1,000 records on a table. Zapier originally released it on 28 July 2026, before detailing the workflow in an October blog post.

This gives warehouse teams a row for every product they need to pack. Each row can have its own Packed checkbox, so the team can check products individually before marking the order as shipped.

Create Multiple Records Builds One Row Per Product

Previously, sending an order to a table as one record could leave the packer working from a paragraph of product details. Create Multiple Records maps the order’s line items to table fields and writes each item as its own record.

The update comes with two more Zapier Tables actions. Create Table builds a table from a Zap and can add its initial fields. Add Field(s) adds new columns to an existing table, such as a tracking number field.

Records can still be added by hand. Later Zap steps can use Find Records and Update Record to locate the relevant rows and mark the order as shipped.

A basic order workflow now looks like this:

  1. 1

    Catch the order

use the new order event as the Zap trigger

  2. 2

    Create the records

select Create Multiple Records in Zapier Tables

  3. 3

    Map the products

connect the order’s line items to the relevant table fields

  4. 4

    Test the output

confirm that every product appears as a separate row

Three Actions Cover the Table Structure

Create Multiple Records handles batches of rows. Create Table handles cases where the destination table does not exist yet. Add Field(s) changes the structure of an existing table when the workflow needs another column.

Together, the actions let a Zap create the packing table, add its fields and write the order’s individual products into it. The warehouse and the automation then work from the same set of rows.

The three actions are not limited to warehouse checklists. Their stated behaviour applies wherever a Zap needs to create multiple records from line-item data, create a new table or add fields to an existing one.
