Bubble Launches Deep Linking for Push Notifications on iOS and Android

Bubble has shipped deep linking for push notifications, a feature that routes users to specific screens when they tap a notification on iOS or Android. The update lets developers set a destination view, pass data through the notification payload, and configure navigation behavior including overlay handling.

The capability addresses a common mobile UX problem: notifications that dump users at the home screen instead of the relevant content. With deep linking configured, tapping a notification about a new message takes the user directly to that conversation thread, or a payment alert lands them on the transaction detail screen.

How It Works

Bubble's implementation gives developers control over three core elements. First, you designate which view in your app the notification should open. Second, you can pass contextual data through the notification itself, such as a post ID, user name, or order number, which the destination screen can use to load the right content. Third, you configure the navigation type and specify whether overlays should appear.

The feature works across both iOS and Android without requiring separate implementations, a practical advantage for developers building cross-platform apps in Bubble's no-code environment. Push notifications sent through Bubble's mobile plugin now support these parameters natively.

Mobile Development Context

This update arrives as Bubble continues to expand its mobile capabilities. The platform recently upgraded its AI app generator to output more structured mobile interfaces with sidebars and reusable components, and integrated Figma exports into its AI Agent for faster interface building.

Deep linking represents a step toward feature parity with native mobile development, where routing users to specific in-app destinations from external triggers is standard practice. For Bubble developers building marketplaces, messaging apps, or task management tools, the feature removes a significant limitation that previously required workarounds or custom code.

The update is live now for all Bubble users building mobile applications. Configuration happens within the push notification workflow settings in the Bubble editor, where developers can map notification triggers to destination views and define the data schema to pass through.

AI Lets You Build Everything—Here’s Why You Still Never Launch

Tom Wesolowski, owner of NoCodeRefactoring.com, delivers a conference talk exposing how AI's ability to build anything has created a new problem: chronic overbuilding that prevents launches. Using a real marketplace project as a case study, he demonstrates how an 80% scope reduction transformed a stalled four-month development into a revenue-generating product launched in two weeks. The talk provides a practical framework for identifying the minimal viable customer loop and postponing everything else until real user demand validates the need.
