Perplexity has brought its Computer assistant to mobile devices, starting with iOS. The expansion allows users to initiate and manage AI-powered tasks across multiple devices with automatic synchronization.
The mobile launch marks a significant accessibility upgrade for Perplexity Computer, which previously launched as an always-on assistant running on Mac Mini. Users can now start a research task on their iPhone and seamlessly continue it on desktop, or vice versa, without losing context or progress.
Mobile-First Access
The iOS app is available immediately through the Perplexity mobile application. Android users will need to wait for a future release, though no specific timeline was provided. This phased rollout follows Perplexity's pattern of iterating on platform availability, similar to how Computer for Enterprise expanded access to business users.
Cross-device synchronization means tasks initiated on mobile persist across sessions and devices. If a user begins analyzing a dataset or drafting content on their phone during a commute, that work appears instantly on their desktop when they reach the office. The sync happens automatically without requiring manual saves or exports.

The mobile interface adapts Perplexity's existing Computer capabilities to smaller screens, though specific details about which features are optimized for touch interaction versus desktop workflows were not disclosed. Perplexity Computer includes access to multiple AI models, autonomous task execution, and integration with various data sources.
Expanding the Computer Platform
Since opening Computer to Pro subscribers with 20+ AI models, Perplexity has steadily broadened the platform's capabilities and accessibility. Recent additions include Skills for customizing agent behavior, Model Council for routing queries to optimal models, and voice interaction modes.
The mobile expansion addresses a practical limitation: knowledge workers rarely stay at a single device all day. By enabling Computer tasks to flow between contexts, Perplexity positions the assistant as a persistent work companion rather than a desktop-bound tool.
For iOS users, the update is live now in the existing Perplexity app. Android users can expect mobile Computer support in a future release, though Perplexity has not committed to a specific launch window.
