Perplexity Partners on Amex-Curated Skills for Small Businesses

Amex-curated skills are coming to Perplexity Computer through a partnership with American Express. The ready-to-use workflows are intended for US American Express Small Business Card Members, with initial examples covering cash flow forecasting and marketing campaign generation.

The LinkedIn announcement describes the skills as pre-built workflows curated by American Express. They will run inside Perplexity Computer rather than as a separate American Express product.

What the Amex-curated skills cover

Two workflows have been named. The cash flow forecasting skill will handle a recurring financial planning task, while the marketing campaign generation skill will create campaign material. Perplexity also referred to additional skills but did not identify them.

Computer added a Skills Marketplace on 21 September for finding reusable skills. The American Express partnership adds a set created for a defined group of card members to that broader skills system.

Perplexity has been expanding Computer beyond individual research tasks. Recent updates have added shared Projects, access through email and reusable skills. It has also introduced connectors that bring licensed business data into Computer research.

The Amex-curated workflows add pre-built business processes to that environment. Card members will not need to create the named forecasting and campaign-generation workflows from scratch before running them.

Access is limited to US card members

The announced audience is US American Express Small Business Card Members. Perplexity described the work as a partnership with American Express, which is curating the workflows available through the initiative.

The update uses the wording “working with” American Express to bring the skills to members. It does not describe a general release for other Perplexity Computer users or present the workflows as templates available across the Skills Marketplace.

How to Get Your Product Recommended by Google and ChatGPT

Tanya Van Gastel presents the APEX framework for making products discoverable in AI-powered search engines like ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews. She explains how AI is fundamentally changing product discovery and buyer behavior, then breaks down five critical components: Authority (being cited as a solution), Presence (visibility across search platforms), Expertise (creating high-quality money pages), Endorsements (off-site validation), and Extractability (making content easy for AI to process). The talk emphasizes quality over quantity, with data showing 50% of SaaS SEO revenue comes from fewer than 10 high-performing pages.
