Better Readability for Complex Logic
Bubble released Sprint 4 with editor usability improvements focused on making complex workflows easier to read and manage. The headline change: more than 500 expression fields in the property editor beta now display dynamic data at full width instead of being compressed into a narrow sidebar.
For builders working with conditional logic or multi-step data transformations, the old layout forced them to scroll horizontally or squint at truncated expressions. The new full-width view gives each field enough room to show the complete logic at a glance, which should speed up debugging and reduce cognitive load when reviewing workflows.
The property editor beta has been in testing since late 2025, gradually rolling out to more users as Bubble refined the interface. This latest iteration addresses one of the most consistent pieces of feedback: that dense expressions were hard to parse in the constrained space.
Search, Reordering, and Context Menus for API Connector
The API Connector tab, which developers use to configure external integrations, received three quality-of-life upgrades. First, a new search function lets users filter through API calls by name, which becomes essential once a project accumulates dozens of endpoints. Second, drag-and-drop reordering allows developers to group related calls together without manually editing JSON or renaming fields to force alphabetical sorting.
The third addition is a context menu triggered by right-clicking any API call. It surfaces quick actions like rename, duplicate, and delete, eliminating the need to navigate through nested settings panels for routine tasks. These changes follow Bubble's earlier API Connector overhaul in Sprint 3, which introduced context notes and workflow previews.
Taken together, the updates target friction points that compound over time. A single API call is easy to manage; 30 of them across multiple environments become unwieldy without better organization tools.
Incremental Improvements, Not Feature Launches
Sprint 4 is light on new capabilities and heavy on polish, which reflects Bubble's current development cadence. The company has been alternating between major feature drops, like the AI Agent's Figma integration in March, and smaller sprints that smooth out existing workflows.
This approach makes sense for a platform where power users spend hours per day in the editor. Small ergonomic wins add up quickly when multiplied across thousands of active projects. A faster workflow in the property editor might save 10 seconds per edit; over a week, that becomes minutes, then hours.
Bubble did not provide a specific release date for when Sprint 4 changes will reach all users. The property editor improvements are currently in beta, while the API Connector updates appear to be rolling out more broadly. Developers interested in testing the property editor beta can request access through Bubble's early access program.
