Bolt, the AI-powered full-stack development platform, is marking Pi Day with a 24-hour promotion that gives Pro and Teams subscribers unlimited access to Claude Sonnet at no cost. The offer runs from 3:14 am PT on March 14 through 3:14 am PT on March 15, announced on LinkedIn and detailed on a dedicated landing page.
The promotion is a partnership with Anthropic, whose Claude models power much of Bolt's code generation capabilities. Free users who upgrade to Pro by 6 am PT on March 13 will also be eligible for the free credits during the 24-hour window.
Contest Details and Prizes
Bolt is pairing the free credit offer with a building contest. Projects started after 3:14 am PT on March 14 can be submitted through the Pi Day landing page for evaluation. Submissions close at midnight PT on March 15.
Three winners will receive $1,000 in Bolt credits, valid for six months. Ten additional winners will receive swag packages, with options varying by location. Winners will be selected by Bolt employees based on technical quality, design, and creativity, with results announced within 14 business days.
The contest terms specify that only one submission per person is allowed, and contestants must be over 18. Projects can also be shared on social media using the hashtag #ShipitFTW for additional visibility, though submission through the official page is required for prize eligibility.
Limited to Claude Sonnet
The free credits apply only to Claude Sonnet, Anthropic's mid-tier model that balances performance and speed. Claude Opus, Anthropic's most capable model, is excluded from the promotion. Bolt recently added support for Opus 4.6 and Sonnet 4.6, both of which represent significant improvements in coding capabilities over previous versions.
Free credits will be automatically activated for eligible accounts at 3:14 am PT. Users who upgrade to Pro after the deadline won't receive the promotion retroactively. The company hasn't disclosed usage limits during the 24-hour period, describing it as "unlimited" in promotional materials, though standard rate limits likely still apply.
Bolt has been building momentum in the AI-assisted development space. The platform recently launched Connectors, which allow users to sync design files and other resources directly into projects, and Team Templates, which let organizations create reusable starting points for common workflows. The Pi Day promotion appears designed to drive usage of these features while showcasing what's possible with 24 hours of unconstrained access to AI-powered development tools.
