Bolt Launches Bolt Forge with Up to 50x Usage.

Bolt Forge is a new model-picker mode that gives Pro users up to 50 times their normal usage at no extra cost through 14 October 2026. It runs on open-source AI models and can also contribute anonymised build data to an AI research programme when the user opts in.

The launch introduces a second plan too. Bolt Lite costs $9 a month and includes Forge’s 50x usage. Invites start during the week of 14 September, sign-ups close on 14 October, and accepted users keep the $9 monthly price permanently.

According to the LinkedIn post, Forge is already available from the model picker on every Pro plan. Bolt Lite has a waitlist rather than immediate access.

Forge changes how much building a Pro account can do within Bolt. The existing usage level remains the reference point, while selecting Forge provides up to 50x that normal amount through 14 October.

The announcement describes Forge as a mode rather than a replacement for Bolt’s other model choices. Users select it from the existing model picker. Forge then runs the build using open-source AI models.

The multiplier is described as “up to 50x”, rather than a fixed amount for every build. Bolt has not attached a token count, prompt count or compute allowance to the normal usage baseline.

This update concerns model capacity rather than Bolt’s visual building controls. Recent product changes have included direct canvas changes through visual edits and prompt queueing while app builds continue. Forge sits earlier in that workflow: it changes the model mode and available usage behind the build.

Forge also serves as a research programme with Arcee AI. When users opt in, their builds can help the partner train a new open AI model. Bolt says the contributed material is anonymised.

Approval happens each time a user switches into Forge. Participation is therefore tied to the act of entering the mode, rather than presented as a single account-wide approval in the announcement.

Forge combines two parts of the release in one mode. The user receives the temporary Pro usage increase, while opted-in sessions can supply anonymised training material for Arcee AI’s open model work.

Access starts with a waitlist. Bolt says invitations begin during the announcement week, which started on 14 September 2026. New sign-ups close one month later on 14 October.

People who get into Bolt Lite retain the $9 monthly price permanently. The price commitment applies once the user is accepted. The announcement does not describe an annual billing option.
