Netlify can now be provisioned directly from the command line as part of Stripe Projects, giving developers and AI agents a streamlined path from initial setup to production deployment without leaving the terminal.
The integration, announced on LinkedIn by the company, positions Netlify as the deployment layer in Stripe's CLI-driven full-stack scaffolding tool. Developers using Stripe Projects can now include Netlify hosting in their initial project setup with a single command, then continue building and shipping on the platform through production.
Terminal-Native Workflow
The move reflects a broader shift toward terminal-first developer experiences, particularly for AI coding agents that operate primarily through CLI tools. Stripe Projects allows developers to scaffold complete applications—including backend services, databases, and now hosting—through conversational prompts or single commands.
By embedding Netlify provisioning into this flow, the integration removes manual setup steps that traditionally required switching between browser dashboards and code editors. Once the initial project is created, developers remain on Netlify for subsequent deployments, preview environments, and production releases.

Netlify emphasized the persistence aspect in their announcement: "once you're set up, you stay on Netlify to keep building, deploying, and shipping to production." This continuity is key for both human developers and automated agents, which benefit from consistent tooling across the development lifecycle.
Agent-First Infrastructure
The timing aligns with Netlify's recent focus on agent-driven development. The company positioned Agent Experience as a bridge from AI setup to production last month, and became a launch and design partner for Stripe Projects in late April.
The Stripe Projects integration joins other recent CLI improvements, including a new netlify logs command that provides structured output for both human developers and programmatic access. That command supports filtering by function, edge function, deploy URL, and time window, with JSON output available for agent consumption.
Netlify's terminal integration also follows the company's recent launch of Netlify Database, which similarly emphasizes programmatic provisioning through CLI and API access rather than manual dashboard configuration.
Competing for Agent Workflows
The move puts Netlify in closer competition with Vercel and Railway, both of which have invested heavily in CLI-driven deployment experiences. It also signals that provisioning—not just deployment—is becoming a battleground for platforms courting AI-assisted development workflows.
Developers and teams using Stripe Projects can access Netlify provisioning immediately through the latest version of the Stripe CLI. Existing Netlify users will see no changes to their current workflows; the integration is opt-in through Stripe's tooling.
