Jev 1.14.0 now runs from Netlify’s Scheduled, Background and Edge Functions, as well as standard Functions. The TypeSafe model is available through AI Gateway, which handles credentials and bills usage to Netlify credits.
The Netlify changelog shows Jev answering typed questions about application state. Instead of returning an open-ended block of text, the question can declare the permitted answer types.

Jev 1.14.0 returns typed answers
Netlify’s example passes a support ticket into the model as application state. The question defines three possible labels: bug, feature request or question. Jev returns one of those labels, with no free-text response to parse before the application can use it.

Builders install @typesafe-ai/sdk and call the model directly from a Netlify Function. They do not need to manage a separate model API key or authentication flow for the call.
The support-ticket example demonstrates a classification task, but the input is described more broadly as application state. The state goes into the question alongside the permitted answer choices, and the model returns an answer matching one of those choices.
Where Jev 1.14.0 can run
Jev calls are not restricted to standard request-response Functions. Version 1.14.0 can also run inside Scheduled Functions, Background Functions and Edge Functions.
That supports several execution patterns within Netlify. A scheduled job can ask a typed question during a timed run. A background job can make the call outside a standard request. An Edge Function can call Jev from Netlify’s edge runtime. Standard Functions remain supported too.
