Lovable Launches Automatic Security Scanning Before Every Publish

Lovable has introduced automatic security scanning that runs before every publish, adding a layer of protection for apps built through its chat-based development platform.

The new feature, announced on LinkedIn, runs automatically each time a user attempts to publish their application. The scan completes in 10-15 seconds and focuses on high-impact vulnerabilities including database misconfigurations, missing Row Level Security (RLS) policies, and authorization gaps.

Users can also trigger an optional deep scan, an AI-powered review of the entire codebase that takes 2-4 minutes to complete. This deeper analysis provides more comprehensive coverage beyond the quick pre-publish check.

Enterprise Scheduling and Automated Coverage

For enterprise workspace administrators, Lovable has added the ability to schedule deep security scans across all projects. Admins can configure scans to run weekly or monthly, ensuring consistent security coverage without requiring individual developers to remember manual checks.

The scheduling feature addresses a common problem in fast-moving development environments: security reviews that happen too late or not at all. By automating the process at the workspace level, organizations can maintain security standards across multiple projects and teams.

Focus on Database Security

The emphasis on RLS policies and database configurations reflects common vulnerabilities in modern web applications. Row Level Security, a feature in databases like Supabase and PostgreSQL, controls which rows users can access. Missing or misconfigured RLS policies can expose sensitive data to unauthorized users.

Lovable's automatic scanning catches these issues before code reaches production. The tool checks authorization logic, verifies database access controls, and identifies configuration problems that could create security holes.

The company detailed the security features in a blog post published alongside the announcement. The post outlines scan profiles, security memory (how the system learns from previous scans), and scheduling options for enterprise teams.

AI-Native Development and Security

Lovable lets users build full-stack applications through natural language prompts, generating React code, database schemas, and API integrations. The platform has recently added features including native Claude integration via MCP server and a draw-to-build interface.

As AI-assisted development tools lower barriers to building software, security scanning becomes critical. Developers using chat interfaces may not have traditional security training, making automated checks particularly valuable. The new scanning features run in the background, providing guardrails without requiring security expertise from the builder.

The security scanner joins other recent infrastructure improvements to the platform. Lovable migrated projects to server-side rendering using TanStack Start in May, improving performance and SEO for generated applications.

The automatic security scan is available immediately to all Lovable users. Enterprise workspace scheduling features are included in enterprise plans. Users can access detailed scan results and recommendations through the Lovable dashboard before publishing their applications.

AI Lets You Build Everything—Here’s Why You Still Never Launch

Tom Wesolowski, owner of NoCodeRefactoring.com, delivers a conference talk exposing how AI's ability to build anything has created a new problem: chronic overbuilding that prevents launches. Using a real marketplace project as a case study, he demonstrates how an 80% scope reduction transformed a stalled four-month development into a revenue-generating product launched in two weeks. The talk provides a practical framework for identifying the minimal viable customer loop and postponing everything else until real user demand validates the need.
