Lovable Adds Live Voice Conversations with GPT Live

Live voice conversations are now available for apps built in Lovable. Powered by OpenAI’s GPT Live, they let people speak directly with an app, interrupt its response and have the app act on spoken instructions.

The launch appeared in a LinkedIn post, alongside a demo from Max Gfeller. He built an app where users can talk with Rocky, a character from Project Hail Mary. The example shows a continuous spoken exchange rather than a voice message converted into a text prompt.

How Live Voice Conversations Work

Builders describe the conversation they want inside Lovable. The documented examples include a voice tutor and a spoken assistant. Lovable then sets up the voice experience using GPT Live as part of the app’s AI features.

  1. 1

    Describe the conversation

Specify an experience such as a voice tutor or spoken assistant

  2. 2

    Set up the feature

Lovable configures the GPT Live-powered interaction

  3. 3

    Publish the app

Live voice works in apps that use TanStack Start

  4. 4

    Start talking

Users can speak, interrupt the response and ask the app to take action

The feature supports interruptions during a conversation. Users do not have to wait for the app to finish speaking before responding. The app can also act on what a person says, rather than only returning a spoken answer.

Live voice conversations currently work in apps that use TanStack Start. They consume Lovable credits, including when the voice feature is used inside a published app.

For builders, the available examples cover both guided conversations and assistant-style interactions. A tutor can conduct a spoken session, while an assistant can receive instructions and perform actions inside the app. The Rocky demo shows the same capability applied to a character conversation.

AI Lets You Build Everything—Here’s Why You Still Never Launch

Tom Wesolowski, owner of NoCodeRefactoring.com, delivers a conference talk exposing how AI's ability to build anything has created a new problem: chronic overbuilding that prevents launches. Using a real marketplace project as a case study, he demonstrates how an 80% scope reduction transformed a stalled four-month development into a revenue-generating product launched in two weeks. The talk provides a practical framework for identifying the minimal viable customer loop and postponing everything else until real user demand validates the need.
