Kajabi Launches Backstage, a Private Client Portal for Coaches and Consultants

Kajabi introduces Backstage to solve the coaching operations problem

Kajabi has launched Backstage, a new feature designed to consolidate the scattered workflows that coaches and consultants typically juggle across multiple platforms. The update addresses a common pain point: while course content lives in polished learning management systems, high-touch 1:1 work often runs through a patchwork of Zoom links, Google Docs, Notion workspaces, and email threads.

Backstage brings those pieces into a single private portal for each client, built directly inside Kajabi. Coaches can pull content from existing courses, curate it around specific client goals, and centralize resources that would otherwise be scattered across platforms. The feature positions itself as infrastructure for premium coaching offers, packaging what is often a creator's highest-price service in a way that matches its value.

The rollout comes as Kajabi continues to expand beyond its original course-hosting roots. Following their recent launch of Expert Agents, an AI-powered assistant that handles customer inquiries, and Amplify, a peer-to-peer ad network for creators, Backstage signals a push into the high-touch coaching market where personalization and organization matter more than scale.

How Backstage works in practice

The core functionality centers on per-client portals. Each coaching client gets a private workspace where the coach can assemble resources, share session notes, and deliver curated content. Instead of duplicating course material or managing separate systems, coaches pull modules or lessons from their existing Kajabi courses and present them in a client-specific context.

This approach addresses two problems at once. First, it eliminates the logistical overhead of maintaining separate documentation and resource libraries for each client. Second, it lets coaches repurpose content they have already created without building something entirely new for each engagement.

The feature also integrates with Kajabi's existing automation and communication tools. Coaches can schedule content releases, send updates through the platform, and track client progress without switching between tabs. For creators who already host courses on Kajabi, Backstage becomes a natural extension of their existing workflow rather than another tool to learn.

Timing and market context

Kajabi is promoting Backstage alongside a limited-time offer: 50 percent off for six months for new users. The discount positions the update as both a product launch and an acquisition play, particularly targeting coaches who may be evaluating whether to consolidate their tech stack.

The coaching market has grown increasingly competitive, with platforms like Circle, Skool, and Mighty Networks all vying for creators who offer community-based or high-touch services. Backstage differentiates Kajabi by focusing specifically on the 1:1 use case rather than group programs or community forums, a narrower but potentially underserved segment.

For coaches already using Kajabi for courses, the update removes a common friction point: the need to cobble together a premium coaching experience using tools that were not designed to work together. By keeping everything in one platform, Kajabi reduces context-switching and makes it easier to present a cohesive brand experience from the first sales page to the final coaching session.

The feature is available now to Kajabi users. Pricing details beyond the introductory discount were not disclosed in the announcement, but Backstage appears to be included as part of Kajabi's existing plans rather than a separate add-on.
