Framer Firewall Blocks or Redirects Visitors by Country

Firewall gives Framer site owners rules for blocking or redirecting visitors based on their country, the path they request, or both. The feature is available now through the Advanced Hosting add-on and on Enterprise plans.

The Framer changelog describes three controls. A rule can use a visitor’s country, target a requested path, or combine the two conditions. Site owners can then block matching visitors or redirect them.

How Framer Firewall Rules Work

Country rules apply according to the visitor’s location. Path rules target sections of a site, so access can be restricted to specific pages rather than the whole domain. Combining country and path conditions narrows a rule to visitors from a particular country requesting a particular part of the site.

The redirect option also works with Framer’s localisation features. If a site already uses localisation, visitors can be sent to a specific locale. This puts country-based routing alongside the site’s existing language and regional pages.

Firewall is configured from the hosting section of Site Settings. After adding a rule, the project must be published for that rule to apply.

  1. 1

    Open Firewall

go to Site Settings, then Hosting, then Firewall

  2. 2

    Add a rule

choose a country, requested path, or both

  3. 3

    Choose an action

block the visitor or redirect them

  4. 4

    Publish the project

make the new rule active on the site

The feature covers whole-country controls and page-level restrictions in the same rule system. A site owner can block access to selected pages, redirect traffic according to location, or use both country and path matching for a more specific condition.

Firewall joins Framer’s hosting controls rather than its recent design-agent features, such as Framer Skills Reuses Your Design and Content Instructions. It is managed at site level and takes effect when the project is published.
