Vercel MCP can now display deployments as interactive cards inside ChatGPT and other clients that support the MCP Apps extension. The card brings deployment status, build logs, source information and commit details into the conversation.
The Vercel changelog details the new interactive deployment cards. ChatGPT connects to it through the client’s Connectors setup.
When a deployment URL is ready, the card adds a Visit button that opens the deployed site. Build logs can be sent directly into the conversation for debugging with the model. They can also be opened in a fullscreen view, where they appear beneath the deployment card.
Vercel MCP Handles Projects, Commits and Environments
The open_deployments tool can find deployments by project, repository or commit. It also supports environment filtering, so the request can target the relevant deployment environment.
Repositories linked to more than one Vercel project get a project switcher. This lets the user move between the associated projects without leaving the card.
| Client capability | Deployment result |
|---|---|
| Supports MCP Apps | Interactive card with status, logs, source and commit details |
| Does not support MCP Apps | Deployment state, preview URL and commit returned as text |
| Repository has multiple projects | Project list for switching between them |
Clients without MCP Apps support still receive the core deployment information. The response appears as text rather than an interactive interface, and includes the deployment state, preview URL and commit.
Debug Builds Inside the Conversation
The interactive card puts the deployment and its build output in the same conversation. A user can look up the relevant deployment, inspect its current state, read the associated commit information and pass its logs to the model.
The fullscreen option provides another view for longer logs. Once the build produces a deployment URL, the Visit button gives direct access to the result.
