Adalo Rebuilds Its App Platform Around Ada

Ada is now live as Adalo’s rebuilt app platform. Describe the app you want and Ada builds it with sign-in, a database designed around the product, payment connections and publishing for iOS, Android and the web.

The launch follows more than 3 million apps made on Adalo since 2019. In its Product Hunt launch post, Adalo says makers repeatedly described the previous platform as a good place to start but a hard place to stay once an app grew. The team responded by rebuilding the platform from the ground up.

Ada is the result. It covers the initial build, the database behind the app, payments, publishing, later updates and code export.

Ada Builds an App From a Description

The starting point is a description of the product. Ada turns that description into an app rather than asking the builder to assemble every screen and data structure manually.

The generated foundation includes user sign-in and a database designed around the app. Adalo describes that database as built to scale. The announcement does not give a fixed list of app categories, and Adalo’s site presents Ada as an AI app builder rather than a template for one type of product.

The change can be summarised against the experience Adalo says makers reported on the earlier platform:

Part of the buildEarlier Adalo experience describedAda
Starting the appMakers called it a good place to startThe builder describes the app and Ada builds it
Growing the appMakers said it became hard to stay as the app grewThe database is designed around the app and built to scale

The workflow described in the launch covers the route from an idea to a published product:

  1. 1

    Describe the app

tell Ada what you want to build

  2. 2

    Generate the foundation

Ada creates sign-in and an app-specific database

  3. 3

    Connect payments

add Stripe and in-app purchases in a few steps

  4. 4

    Publish the app

release it for iOS, Android and the web

  5. 5

    Ship later changes

push updates directly to users’ phones

Adalo Rebuilt the Platform for Growth

This is a platform rebuild rather than an AI prompt box added to the previous builder. Adalo says the team rebuilt the underlying platform from the ground up after hearing that makers struggled to remain on it as their apps grew.

Ada’s generated database is shaped around the app described by the builder. Sign-in is included in the generated product, so user accounts and stored app data sit inside the same build process.

More than 3 million apps have been made on Adalo since 2019. The announcement connects that history directly to the rebuild: the earlier product helped people begin an app, while Ada is designed to carry the app through growth, payments, distribution and later changes.

Code ownership is also part of the release. Builders can export the code for an Ada app. The announcement presents export alongside Adalo’s hosted building and publishing workflow, rather than requiring builders to choose between publishing through Adalo and receiving their code.

Payments, Publishing and Revised Plans

Ada connects Stripe and in-app purchases in a few steps. That puts web payments and mobile purchase flows inside the product-building process described in the launch.

For distribution, the same app can be published to iOS, Android and the web. Once a mobile app is in users’ hands, builders can push later changes directly to their phones without waiting for another app store review.

Adalo also has a separate Publishing Studio for preparing store submissions, covered in Adalo Launches Publishing Studio to Streamline App Store Submissions. Ada’s announcement focuses on building, connecting payments, publishing and delivering subsequent app changes.

Pricing changed alongside the launch. A separate Adalo pricing post says each plan was updated for Ada and directs account questions to support@adalo.com.

Ada was live and available to try when Adalo published the launch announcement. The release applies to apps targeting Apple’s iOS, Android and the web, with code export included in the announced product.
