Airtable’s Find Records automation action can now return up to 4,000 records, four times its previous limit of 1,000. The update arrives alongside run buttons on interface pages, remembered CSV import settings and searchable record comments.
The four changes were announced in an Airtable LinkedIn post.
Find Records Now Handles 4,000 Records
Find Records is used inside Airtable automations to retrieve records matching specified conditions. Its new 4,000-record limit gives automations access to a larger set of matching records than the previous 1,000-record cap.
This follows Airtable’s recent addition of exact field change triggers to automations, which lets builders start a workflow when a selected field changes.
| Area | Previous behaviour | New behaviour |
|---|---|---|
| Find Records | Capped at 1,000 records | Supports up to 4,000 records |
| Interface automation buttons | Not listed for these page types | Available on list and grid pages |
| Interface CSV imports | Mappings and settings were not remembered | Mappings and settings are remembered |
| Record comments | Comments were not searchable | Comments are searchable |
Run Automations From Interface Pages
Run automation buttons are now available on interface list and grid pages. A person working in either page type can use the button there to start an automation.
The interface CSV import tool also remembers mappings and settings. When importing another CSV through the interface, users can reuse the configuration retained by the tool rather than setting up every mapping again.
Comments attached to records are now included in search. This makes text inside a record’s comment history searchable alongside the records teams already work with.
Together, the release changes four parts of day-to-day base work: the number of records an automation can find, where users can trigger automations, how repeat CSV imports are configured and whether comment text can be found through search.
