Airtable Launches Airtables Fall Release for Agent-Ready Work

Airtables Fall Release brings app creation, live-data canvases and agent controls into one launch. Airtable introduced the package at Airspace London on 21 October 2026, framing it as a way for people and agents to build and run workflows together while keeping human control.

The LinkedIn launch post describes the release as a set of products and capabilities for making a business “agent ready”. A second LinkedIn highlights post names five parts: Omni 2.0, Airtable Canvas, MCP connections, agent permissions and an audit log.

What Airtables Fall Release Adds

Omni 2.0 can take spreadsheets, PDFs and presentation decks, then use those files to build an app tailored to the material. Airtable specifically describes the inputs as messy, so the starting point does not have to be a prepared database or a clean import template.

This extends the earlier version of Omni, which could build bases, interfaces and automations from prompts. The earlier workflow began with a written request. Omni 2.0 adds existing business documents as source material for the app.

Airtable Canvas provides another route for presenting and working with that information. It can build custom apps, presentations and dashboards on live Airtable data. The same underlying records can therefore feed an operational app, a visual dashboard or a presentation created in Canvas.

MCP Connects More AI Tools to Airtable

The release adds MCP, or Model Context Protocol, as a connection point for more AI tools. Those tools can use the connection to build automations, create interfaces and submit forms in Airtable.

This broadens Airtable’s work on bringing external AI assistants into bases. It follows its connected app for Gemini, which brought Airtable bases into Gemini chat. The Fall Release describes a wider connection layer rather than naming a list of supported assistants.

The launch sets out a direct sequence for turning existing material into an agent-connected workflow:

  1. 1

    Supply the source material

give Omni 2.0 spreadsheets, PDFs or decks

  2. 2

    Build the app

let Omni 2.0 create an app tailored to those files

  3. 3

    Create the working view

use Canvas for an app, presentation or dashboard on live data

  4. 4

    Connect an AI tool

use MCP for automations, interfaces or form submissions

  5. 5

    Set agent access

choose what each agent can read and edit

  6. 6

    Review activity

use the audit log to inspect actions, timing and authority

These parts cover both creation and operation. Omni 2.0 builds from documents, Canvas creates views and apps on current records, and MCP lets connected AI tools perform named tasks inside Airtable.

Agent Permissions and Audit Logs Add Control

Agent permissions let an organisation define exactly what each agent can read and edit. The controls are assigned per agent, rather than treating every connected agent as having the same access.

The audit log records what agents did, when they did it and on whose authority. This creates a record tied to the agent’s activity and the person or authority behind it.

These controls sit alongside Airtable’s earlier agent admin controls for field permissions and HIPAA support. In the Fall Release, the permissions and audit log are presented as part of the same agent-ready operating model as MCP, Canvas and Omni 2.0.

The release therefore covers three stages of agent work. It provides source material for building an app, connections for agents to act in Airtable, and controls for restricting and reviewing those actions.

Frequently asked questions

What is Airtables Fall Release?
