Xano Ships Version 2.4 With New Monitoring and AI Code Review Tools

Production Visibility Gets an Upgrade

Xano released version 2.4 this week, announced on LinkedIn, with a focus on giving teams better insight into what's running in production. The update introduces new monitoring and error logging capabilities designed to surface system behavior that previously required manual inspection or third-party tools. It also adds AI-powered code review functionality intended to help teams validate backend logic before it goes live.

The release addresses a common pain point for backend builders: understanding what's actually happening in deployed environments. Where earlier versions required developers to rely on external logging or manually trace API behavior, 2.4 makes that data visible directly in the platform.

What's New in Monitoring and Logging

The monitoring features track API endpoint performance, response times, and error rates in real time. Teams can now see which endpoints are hitting resource limits, which requests are failing, and where bottlenecks appear without leaving the Xano interface. Error logs capture stack traces and request context, making it easier to reproduce and fix issues that surface in production.

The system aggregates error patterns over time, surfacing recurring issues that might indicate deeper logic flaws or integration problems. This matters particularly for teams building backends that connect multiple external services, where a single misconfigured API call can cascade into broader failures.

For teams already using Xano's sandbox environments to test logic changes, the new monitoring tools extend that workflow into production, creating a continuous feedback loop between staging and live systems.

AI Review for Backend Logic

The AI review feature scans function stacks and API logic for common mistakes: unhandled edge cases, inefficient queries, security gaps in authentication flows, and misconfigured external API calls. It runs automatically when developers save changes or can be triggered manually before deployment.

According to the announcement, the AI model was trained on patterns from production backends built on Xano, meaning it catches issues specific to how teams actually use the platform rather than generic code problems. The tool flags potential issues with severity ratings and suggests fixes inline.

This builds on Xano's earlier integration of AI agents in version 2.3, where developers could use Claude and other models to generate backend logic. Now the system can review that AI-generated code before it runs in production, closing a loop that many teams found risky: using AI to build, but manually auditing every output.

Why This Matters for No-Code Backend Builders

No-code platforms often trade visibility for speed. You can ship faster, but understanding what's running under the hood gets harder as complexity grows. Monitoring tools help teams scale backends without losing control, particularly for projects that start as prototypes and grow into production systems handling real user traffic.

The AI review layer addresses another emerging concern: as more backend logic gets generated by AI tools like Claude or built using Xano's CLI and MCP integrations, teams need automated ways to catch errors before they hit users. Manual code review doesn't scale when AI can generate entire API stacks in minutes.

For teams using Xano alongside frontend builders like Bubble, WeWeb, or Framer, these monitoring tools make it easier to debug issues that span both the backend and the client. Instead of guessing whether a failure happened in the API or the UI, developers can see exactly where requests break down.

Xano 2.4 is available now to all users. The company released a video walkthrough covering the new features in detail, and the monitoring dashboard is accessible from the main workspace interface.
