Xano has rolled out continuous scrolling in its database interface, replacing the traditional pagination controls that previously required users to click through multiple pages of records.
The update removes page breaks when browsing database tables, allowing users to scroll through records without interruption. For teams managing large datasets, the change eliminates the workflow friction of repeatedly clicking next or jumping between numbered pages.
The backend platform framed the improvement as a quality-of-life update rather than a major feature launch. According to the announcement, continuous scrolling matters most when working at scale, where paginated views can slow down data review and comparison tasks.
What Changed
Previously, Xano's database view used standard pagination. Users would load a set number of records per page and navigate forward or backward using page controls. The new approach loads additional records dynamically as users scroll down, similar to social media feeds or modern web applications.
The feature is now live for all Xano users accessing their database tables through the platform's interface. No configuration or opt-in is required.
Why It Matters
Pagination works well for small datasets but becomes cumbersome when scanning hundreds or thousands of records. Developers and citizen developers using Xano to build backends for apps built with tools like Bubble, Webflow, or FlutterFlow often need to review data directly in the database interface during development or troubleshooting.
Continuous scrolling reduces context switching. Instead of pausing to click and wait for the next page to load, users can maintain focus while reviewing records. This becomes particularly valuable when comparing entries across different sections of a table or searching for specific patterns in the data.
The change aligns with broader UX trends in developer tools. Platforms like Airtable and Supabase have adopted similar infinite scroll patterns in their data views, prioritizing fluid interaction over traditional pagination.
Xano has been updating its platform steadily in recent months. The company launched version 2.3 earlier this year with AI governance features and sandbox environments, and recently added JavaScript lambda support through Deno runtime integration.
The platform starts at $25 per month and positions itself as a scalable no-code backend for AI-powered applications, connected APIs, and autonomous agents. The continuous scrolling update is available immediately to all users at go.xano.co/login.
