n8n Releases Reddit Trend Monitoring Workflow With GPT-4o Mini Summaries and Telegram Delivery

n8n has released a workflow template that automates Reddit trend discovery by monitoring subreddits, identifying viral posts, and delivering AI-generated summaries through Telegram.

The workflow, shared on LinkedIn, targets users who manually track Reddit communities for trending topics. It replaces periodic browsing with scheduled automation that runs each morning, filtering posts by engagement metrics and summarizing results using GPT-4o mini.

How the Workflow Operates

The template monitors user-selected subreddits and applies virality filters based on upvotes, comment volume, or other engagement signals. Posts that meet the threshold are passed to GPT-4o mini for summarization, condensing lengthy threads into digestible briefs. The workflow then packages the summaries and delivers them to a designated Telegram chat.

Users can customize subreddit selections, adjust filtering criteria, and modify the schedule to fit different cadences. The workflow does not require coding knowledge, though technical users can extend it with additional nodes or integrate other services.

Use Cases and Applications

The workflow supports several practical scenarios:

  • Market research: Track industry-specific subreddits for emerging product discussions or competitor mentions
  • Content sourcing: Monitor communities for viral topics that inform blog posts, newsletters, or social media strategy
  • Community management: Stay informed on discussions within brand-related subreddits without constant manual checks

By automating the monitoring and summarization process, the workflow removes the need for daily Reddit browsing while preserving access to trending content. The Telegram integration ensures summaries reach users on mobile devices without requiring email or dashboard logins.

Template Availability and Context

n8n provides the workflow as a ready-to-use template accessible through its platform. Users can import it directly into their n8n instance, whether self-hosted or cloud-based. The template includes pre-configured nodes for Reddit API integration, GPT-4o mini summarization, and Telegram messaging.

The release follows n8n's ongoing focus on AI-powered automation. The platform previously released a production AI playbook covering evaluation and monitoring techniques, and recently shipped a workflow for automated Shopify product photography.

The workflow was originally created by Roshan Ramani, a community contributor acknowledged in the LinkedIn post. n8n's template library regularly features user-submitted workflows that address common automation challenges.

Integration With Existing Tools

The Reddit monitoring workflow integrates with platforms already in use by technical teams and small businesses. The GPT-4o mini integration allows users to leverage OpenAI's API without building custom summarization logic. Telegram serves as the delivery mechanism, though the workflow can be modified to send summaries through Slack, email, or other notification channels.

For teams running self-hosted n8n instances, the workflow operates entirely within their infrastructure, keeping Reddit data and summaries under their control. Cloud users benefit from n8n's managed environment while still maintaining workflow customization.

The template is available now through n8n's workflow library. Users need active Reddit API credentials, an OpenAI API key, and a Telegram bot token to run the workflow.

The AI-Native Solopreneur: Build Without a Technical Co-Founder

Effie Bersoux presents a paradigm shift in entrepreneurship where AI enables solo founders to build, validate, and scale businesses without technical co-founders or significant capital. Drawing from Growth Girls' experience building 40+ companies in one year and going from a £4m exit (7 years) to a £40m acquisition target (1 year), she demonstrates how AI breaks the traditional capital-talent-traction loop that disadvantages undercapitalized founders. The talk provides concrete frameworks for AI-native operating models, automation decision-making, and rapid idea-to-market validation.
