Kajabi Launches Evolved Automations for Course Creators

Kajabi has released Evolved Automations, a new system designed to automate student communications based on learning behavior and milestone completion. The update aims to reduce manual follow-up work for course creators while maintaining personalized student engagement.

The automation system runs continuously, triggering messages based on specific student actions and progress markers. According to early users, the feature can save over 10 hours monthly on routine communication tasks.

How the Automation System Works

Evolved Automations tracks student progress through courses and triggers communications at key moments. The system includes five primary automation types:

Milestone emails send automatically when students complete lessons, designed to maintain learning momentum. Review requests trigger upon course completion, collecting feedback without manual outreach. Inactive student alerts notify creators when learners disengage, enabling timely intervention.

The system also handles bonus unlocks, releasing rewards when students hit specific milestones to sustain motivation. Smart tagging segments students by behavior patterns, allowing creators to personalize messaging paths based on engagement data.

These automations operate 24/7 without requiring manual intervention. Creators can configure triggers and messages once, then let the system handle ongoing communications as students progress through content.

Context on Kajabi's Recent Updates

The automation launch comes as Kajabi continues expanding its creator platform capabilities. Earlier this year, the company introduced Cofounder AI to generate business content and launched community management updates for better channel control.

The platform competes with other course and community tools like Circle, Mighty Networks, and Skool in the creator economy space. While those platforms focus primarily on community features, Kajabi positions itself as an all-in-one solution combining courses, marketing, and now advanced automation.

Technical Implementation

The smart tagging system segments students into groups based on completion rates, engagement frequency, and content consumption patterns. Creators can build automation workflows that respond differently to each segment, delivering targeted messages to students based on their learning behavior.

For example, a creator might configure one automation path for highly engaged students who complete lessons quickly, another for slower-paced learners who need encouragement, and a third for inactive students who haven't logged in recently.

The feature integrates with Kajabi's existing email system, so creators don't need to connect external tools like Mailchimp or ConvertKit for basic course communications.

Evolved Automations is available now to all Kajabi users. The company has not announced whether the feature requires a specific plan tier or is accessible across all subscription levels.
