Databutton has launched Riff, a platform that lets users build AI-powered applications with direct integrations to business tools like HubSpot, Notion, and Google Sheets without writing code. The company demonstrated the platform with a content brief generator that pulls ranking data, People Also Ask questions, and internal link suggestions in under three minutes.

The platform generates a build plan automatically after users describe their requirements in plain English. It then selects appropriate tools and APIs, such as SerpAPI for live search data, and assembles the components into a deployable application. Users upload API keys, and the app goes live.

Plain-English App Assembly

Riff's workflow centers on natural language input. Users describe what they want to build, and the platform interprets those requirements into a technical build plan before generating any code. This approach differs from traditional no-code platforms that require users to manually configure integrations and workflows.

The demonstration showed a marketing brief generator built through four steps: describing the app in plain English, reviewing the automatically generated build plan, connecting external tools like SerpAPI, and deploying with API credentials. The entire process took under three minutes from description to live deployment.

Riff joins a growing field of AI-powered development tools, including Lovable, Bolt, and Cursor, that aim to reduce the technical barrier to building software. The platform's focus on business tool integrations positions it more directly against workflow automation platforms like Zapier and Make.

Business Tool Integration Layer

The platform supports direct connections to common business software. Integrations include HubSpot for CRM data, Notion for documentation, and Google Sheets for spreadsheet manipulation. These connections allow apps built on Riff to read and write data across multiple systems without custom API work.

Following their recent launch of Riff Automations, the platform has expanded its capabilities to include app building alongside workflow automation. The company has also targeted specific verticals, including finance and sales teams, with purpose-built integrations.

The SEO content brief example demonstrates how these integrations work in practice. The app connects to SerpAPI to fetch real-time search engine ranking data, extracts People Also Ask questions from search results, and generates internal linking suggestions based on keyword analysis. The output feeds directly into content management workflows without manual data transfer.

Early Access Incentive

Databutton is offering unlimited Riff credits for the remainder of 2025 to users who sign up, create their first app, and launch it before November 1, 2025. The promotion aims to drive early adoption during the platform's initial release period.

The platform's automatic tool selection represents a shift from traditional no-code builders that require users to know which APIs and services to connect. By analyzing the user's description, Riff identifies relevant external tools and proposes them as part of the build plan. This reduces the research and configuration time typically required when integrating third-party services.

Riff's launch comes as AI coding assistants increasingly handle integration logic alongside core application code. The question for platforms like Databutton is whether automatically selected integrations will match the reliability and customization of manually configured connections, particularly for users with specific workflow requirements or data security constraints.
