Databutton has launched Riff, a platform that generates AI-powered business applications from plain-English descriptions and deploys them with integrations to tools like HubSpot, Notion, and Google Sheets, without requiring users to write code.
The platform, announced on LinkedIn by a pre-launch user, allows builders to describe an application concept in natural language, after which Riff automatically generates a build plan showing every component before creating the app. The system also matches appropriate third-party tools based on the project requirements, such as pairing SerpAPI with a content brief generator that needs live search data.
Automated Build Planning and Deployment
Riff's workflow centers on three steps: describing the desired app, reviewing an automatically generated build plan, and deploying with API keys. The pre-launch demonstration showed a content brief generator being built in under three minutes, pulling ranking data, People Also Ask questions, and internal link suggestions for any keyword.
The platform handles the technical integration layer between AI capabilities and business tools, positioning itself as a faster alternative to manual app development or traditional automation platforms. Following its recent launch of Riff Automations to challenge Zapier, Databutton is expanding its approach from workflow automation to full application generation.
Unlike code-first AI development tools such as Cursor or Replit, Riff focuses on business users who need working applications connected to their existing software stack rather than standalone code projects. The system generates not just the logic but also the user interface and data connections required for production use.
Business Tool Ecosystem and Launch Incentive
Riff currently supports integrations with several business platforms, including HubSpot for CRM, Notion for documentation, and Google Sheets for data management. The platform requires users to provide their own API keys for third-party services, giving them direct control over data access and service costs.
Databutton is offering unlimited Riff credits for the remainder of 2025 to users who create and launch their first app before November 1, 2025. The promotion appears designed to accelerate early adoption and generate a library of real-world use cases during the initial launch period.
The company has recently added Gemini 3 support to its Riff platform and opened Riff Automations to teams after focusing on specific verticals like finance and sales. With Riff, Databutton is positioning itself in the growing category of AI-native development platforms that prioritize speed and business integration over traditional coding workflows.
