Vercel’s late-October releases cover AI models, coding agents, observability, sandboxes and infrastructure. The updates give developers more ways to run agents, inspect AI bot traffic and automate project setup.
Particle-1 Joins AI Gateway
Particle-1 is now available through AI Gateway, with a 1M-token context window and a focus on completing software engineering tasks using fewer tokens. Developers can call it through AI SDK using particle/particle-1, following Vercel’s earlier work to centralise AI Gateway configuration.
Vercel Plugin Arrives in OpenCode
The Vercel Plugin now works with OpenCode, adding guidance and skills for AI SDK, Vercel Functions and Workflow. It requires OpenCode 2 and includes specialist agents for deployment, performance optimisation and AI application design, plus commands such as /vercel:deploy and /vercel:env.
fx Connects to T3 Code
Vercel’s open-source fx coding agent harness is now integrated with T3 Code. Developers can add fx as a provider for coding sessions across web, desktop and mobile, with Supervised and Auto modes available.
AI Traffic Insights Reach Observability
A new AI Traffic view in Vercel Observability shows requests from verified AI bots, the most-crawled pages, assistant retrievals, markdown requests and errors. It is available under Observability > AI Traffic, while vercel metrics provides CLI access for Observability Plus subscribers, alongside features such as custom monitors.
Agents Enable Analytics Through Vercel CLI
Vercel CLI no longer needs an interactive terminal to enable Web Analytics or Observability Plus. Agents can configure both programmatically using Vercel CLI version 64.2.0 or later, although the team must already subscribe to Observability Plus before enabling it.
Paseo Runs Agents in Vercel Sandbox
The Paseo Vercel Sandbox plugin lets developers start a cloud agent session from a laptop and continue controlling it from a phone after the laptop closes. Stopping the sandbox preserves files and conversation history, while the AI Gateway key is entered once and reused across sessions.
Container Registry Accepts Larger Layers
Vercel Container Registry now accepts compressed image layers up to 2 GB, up from 500 MB. The total image limit remains 15 GB, but large toolchains and dependency sets no longer need to be split across as many layers.
Box Mount Connects Files to Sandbox
Box Mount is in private preview for Vercel Sandbox, letting agents read and write Box files through standard filesystem operations. It synchronises a Box folder with a sandbox directory, and users must unmount it before stopping the sandbox to save changes back to Box.
Node.js 26 LTS Becomes Generally Available
Node.js 26 LTS is generally available for builds and Vercel Functions. It is the default for new projects, while existing projects upgrade automatically when their package.json permits Node.js 26. Features include HTTP/2 by default for built-in fetch, the Temporal API and V8 version 14.6.
Firewall Separates AI Crawlers and Assistants
The AI Bots managed ruleset can control AI crawlers and AI assistants independently. Teams can block bots collecting content for indexing or model training while allowing assistants that retrieve pages in response to user queries, with Vercel updating the ruleset as new bots appear.
