Tally Forms introduced Answer Insights, a new visualization layer inside its Insights tab that automatically generates charts and metrics from form responses without requiring spreadsheet exports.
The feature, announced on LinkedIn and detailed on the changelog, surfaces key survey data directly in the form builder interface. Users can now see bar charts, pie charts, averages, medians, Net Promoter Scores, and Customer Satisfaction ratings without leaving the platform.
Built-In Analytics for Common Survey Patterns
Answer Insights recognizes question types and applies appropriate visualizations automatically. Multiple choice questions render as bar or pie charts. Rating scales display average and median values. Linear scales between 0 and 10 calculate NPS scores using the standard promoter, passive, and detractor methodology. Star rating questions generate live CSAT percentages.
The update addresses a common friction point in form tools where users collect responses in one system, then export to Google Forms, Airtable, or spreadsheets for analysis. Tally's approach keeps the entire workflow inside a single interface.
The feature follows several workflow improvements rolled out in recent months. Tally added one-click PDF exports for submissions in late April, making it easier to share individual responses with stakeholders or use them in contracts. The company also began attaching submission PDFs to email notifications, eliminating the need to log into the dashboard to review new form entries.
Competitive Position in No-Code Forms
The insights capability puts Tally closer in feature parity with Typeform and enterprise survey platforms, which have offered built-in analytics for years. However, Tally maintains its positioning as a simpler, more accessible alternative. The tool offers unlimited forms and responses on its free tier, a stark contrast to most competitors that gate submission volumes behind paid plans.
Answer Insights is available immediately to all users. Tally's co-founders Marie and Filip will discuss the feature and answer questions during an Office Hours session on May 21, part of an ongoing series of open Q&A sessions with the community.
The bootstrapped company continues to prioritize features that reduce context switching for small teams and solo builders, a strategy that has driven growth primarily through word-of-mouth adoption in the no-code community.
