Notion Expands Token Sharing to Different ChatGPT Accounts

Notion has removed a sign-up snag from its new token sharing feature with ChatGPT, so the integration now works even when your ChatGPT and Notion accounts use different email addresses.

The fix came fast. According to Notion's LinkedIn post, the team heard builders flagging the mismatched-email problem one day and shipped the update the next. For anyone who uses a personal email for ChatGPT and a work email for Notion, or any combination that does not line up neatly, this is the difference between the feature working and not working at all.

What token sharing actually does

Token sharing itself launched earlier in the week. As Notion explained in a follow-up LinkedIn post, the idea is simple: start a piece of work in ChatGPT, save it to Notion where your team can see it, then keep working on it inside Notion using your existing ChatGPT plan. You are not paying twice for the same AI usage, and you are not copying text between two tabs to get a document your team can actually find.

This builds on a direction Notion has been pushing for a while. We covered the earlier move of letting ChatGPT plans cover AI use inside workspaces, and token sharing looks like the next step: your ChatGPT subscription now travels with you into Notion documents, rather than stopping at the browser tab where you started.

  1. 1

    Start in ChatGPT

draft, research or brainstorm using your usual ChatGPT plan

  2. 2

    Save to Notion

push the output into a Notion page your team already has access to

  3. 3

    Keep going in Notion

continue editing with ChatGPT's capability still attached

  4. 4

    Share with the team

colleagues see and build on the finished page, not a screenshot

Frequently asked questions

What is Notion's token sharing feature? Token sharing lets you start work in ChatGPT and continue it inside Notion using the same ChatGPT plan, so usage and output move with you instead of being locked to one app. Notion launched it this week and described it in a LinkedIn post as a way to save ChatGPT work straight into a shared Notion page.

Does token sharing work if my ChatGPT and Notion accounts use different emails? Yes. Notion shipped a fix a day after the original launch specifically to support accounts with different email addresses, responding to requests posted after the initial rollout.

Which Notion or ChatGPT plans include token sharing? Neither announcement specifies plan tiers, pricing or regional availability. Check your Notion workspace settings and ChatGPT account directly to confirm eligibility.
