Notion Expands Offline Mode to Auto-Download Up to 1,000 Pages

Offline Mode in Notion now automatically downloads up to 1,000 recently viewed and favourite pages on paid plans. Those pages remain available when an internet connection drops.

The change removes the need to predict every page you will need before losing WiFi. According to Notion’s LinkedIn post, the app handles the downloads automatically.

How Notion Offline Mode Selects Pages

The automatic download pool uses two signals: pages viewed recently and pages marked as favourites. It can contain up to 1,000 pages.

The phrase “up to 1,000” describes the maximum number of pages covered by this update. It does not mean every account will always have exactly 1,000 downloaded pages.

What Changes When WiFi Drops

The downloaded pages keep part of a workspace accessible without an internet connection. Because Notion chooses pages from recent activity and favourites, the offline set updates around pages already receiving attention rather than requiring a separate list in the announcement’s described flow.

This applies to the pages stored by Offline Mode, not every page in a workspace. The 1,000-page cap sets the boundary for the automatic collection.

The announcement focuses on offline availability. It does not explain how Notion prioritises pages when more than 1,000 qualify.

The update is a focused reliability change rather than a new workspace feature. It makes recent work and deliberately saved favourites available when connectivity disappears, with the app doing the preparation in advance.
