Bubble Adds Universal Links and Ready-Made Sign in with Apple

Bubble is giving its native mobile app builders two pieces of infrastructure that can have an outsized effect on acquisition and onboarding: universal links and a prebuilt Sign in with Apple component.

The company announced the additions on LinkedIn, positioning universal links as a solution for mobile campaigns where recipients may or may not have the relevant app installed. The same URL can now open the installed app for an existing user or send someone without it to a configurable fallback, such as an app store listing.

That sounds like a small routing improvement. In practice, it addresses a common gap between email marketing and the mobile app experience.

A conventional deep link is intended to take a user directly to a specific destination inside an app, rather than merely opening its home screen. That can be useful for links pointing to an order, account page, promotion, listing, or piece of content. The experience becomes less reliable when the recipient does not have the app installed.

Bubble’s universal links adapt based on that condition. According to the company, they:

  • Open the mobile app for users who already have it installed
  • Route other users to a fallback URL selected by the app builder
  • Allow email campaigns to use a single link for both audiences

The fallback could be an app store listing, although Bubble describes that as an example rather than the only supported destination. This gives builders control over what happens when an app cannot be opened, instead of leaving a prospective user at a dead end.

For small teams, the practical benefit is simpler campaign management. An email promoting a new feature or marketplace listing does not need separate calls to action for current app users and people who have yet to install it. Existing users can move into the app, while prospective users can be directed toward an appropriate next step.

The update is particularly relevant for businesses using lifecycle emails, re-engagement messages, launch campaigns, or transactional notifications. Its value will still depend on how builders structure destinations and fallbacks. A universal link solves the routing decision, but teams must still ensure the page opened inside the app matches what the recipient expected from the message.

Apple Sign-In Gets a Prebuilt Component

Bubble has also added a Sign in with Apple component that comes pre-styled and pre-wired. Rather than constructing the interface and connection from scratch, builders can add a component already designed around the intended authentication flow.

Bubble notes that Apple requires this sign-in option when an app offers other third-party sign-in methods. The new component should therefore be useful for builders adding social authentication to an iOS app, especially those without the engineering resources to implement and maintain a separate Apple login experience manually.

The two additions continue Bubble’s broader push into native mobile development. They follow updates that let the Bubble AI Agent build, edit, and troubleshoot native mobile apps. While those AI capabilities focus on producing and modifying an app, universal links and Apple authentication address what happens when users arrive and attempt to sign in.

Together, the releases reduce two forms of mobile friction. Universal links help users reach the right destination from outside an app, while the Apple component gives builders a faster route to supporting a platform-specific authentication requirement. Bubble’s announcement does not specify plan restrictions, additional pricing, or a staged rollout schedule.

Frequently asked questions

What are Bubble universal links?

Bubble universal links are URLs that respond differently depending on whether the recipient has the mobile app installed. They open the app for installed users and send everyone else to a configurable fallback URL, such as an app store listing.

Who should use the Sign in with Apple component?

It is aimed at Bubble builders offering third-party authentication in an iOS app. Bubble says Apple requires Sign in with Apple when other third-party sign-in options are available, and the new component comes pre-styled and pre-wired.

Do these features require a specific Bubble plan?

Bubble did not disclose plan requirements or additional pricing in its announcement. Builders should consult Bubble’s editor, documentation, or release notes for account-specific availability.
