Vercel Tracing is now generally available on every plan, with a dedicated dashboard for searching traces and spans across a project or an entire team. New Next.js projects also get tracing by default.
The Vercel changelog confirms that pricing is unchanged from the beta period. The release adds dashboard search, Kibana Query Language filtering, live streaming and access through the Vercel CLI.
Vercel Tracing Gets Its Own Dashboard
During the beta, users could open an individual trace for a request from the Logs page. The new Traces page puts every trace and span in one place. Users can switch between separate Spans and Traces lists, then filter or search the results.
The page works at both project and team level. This means a team can inspect activity from one application or search across its Vercel projects from the same tracing interface.
| Area | During beta | Generally available release |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboard | Open one trace per request from Logs | Browse traces and spans on a dedicated page |
| Search | Request-level access | KQL search and filtering |
| Scope | Individual requests | Project or whole-team views |
| New activity | Viewed through existing logs | Live mode streams incoming traces |
| Terminal access | Limited dashboard workflow | Search and inspect through Vercel CLI |
Live mode streams new traces as they arrive. For builders investigating an active issue, this provides a running view without repeatedly refreshing a static result set.
KQL filters can narrow the displayed spans and traces. The same tracing data is also available from the Vercel CLI, so users can search and inspect it without staying in the dashboard.
New Next.js Projects Start With Tracing
Tracing is enabled by default for new Next.js projects. Existing projects can access tracing through the dashboard or CLI, and the feature is now available across all Vercel plans.
This observability release follows other early November platform changes, including Vercel Schedules for runtime task management and Vercel Security Review for every GitHub push.
