Make Releases AI-Powered Calendar Summary Template Using Google Calendar, Gemini, and Slack

Make has released a new automation template that connects Google Calendar, Gemini AI, and Slack to deliver hands-free weekly calendar summaries. The ready-built scenario, demonstrated by Francisco de Brito Fontes, Make's Business Automation and AI Lead, automatically generates daily or weekly notifications that consolidate upcoming events without manual calendar checks.

The template uses Make's visual automation builder to pull calendar data from Google Calendar, process it through Gemini AI for summarization, and deliver the formatted output directly to Slack channels or direct messages. Users can access the pre-built scenario at ma.ke/4me2r0x or follow step-by-step instructions to customize the workflow for their specific scheduling needs.

Bridging Calendar Data and Team Communication

The automation addresses a common productivity challenge: staying informed about upcoming commitments without constantly switching between calendar applications and communication tools. By routing calendar data through Gemini AI, the scenario creates context-aware summaries that highlight key meetings, deadlines, and scheduling conflicts.

Make's approach leverages natural language processing to transform raw calendar entries into readable summaries. The AI component can identify patterns, group related events, and provide context that static calendar notifications typically lack. Users can customize the prompt to focus on specific event types, time ranges, or priority levels.

The template demonstrates practical AI integration without requiring users to build complex workflows from scratch. Make provides the scenario structure, including API connections, data transformations, and error handling, while allowing customization of scheduling frequency, recipient lists, and summary formatting.

Template Deployment and Customization

Users can deploy the template in minutes by connecting their Google Calendar, Slack workspace, and Gemini AI accounts to Make. The scenario runs on a schedule, typically daily or weekly, pulling upcoming events and generating summaries based on customizable prompts.

The automation includes:

  • Google Calendar integration for event retrieval across multiple calendars
  • Gemini AI processing for intelligent summarization and formatting
  • Slack delivery to designated channels or users
  • Scheduling controls for timing and frequency of notifications

Make published the prompt template in the LinkedIn post comments, enabling users to fine-tune the AI's output style, level of detail, and focus areas. This flexibility supports various use cases, from executive daily briefings to team coordination summaries.

The release follows Make's broader push into AI-powered automation, including their recent support for OpenAI GPT-5.5 and the introduction of AI Agents with transparency features. The calendar summary template showcases how pre-built scenarios can accelerate adoption of AI workflows for common business processes.

The template is available now through Make's scenario library. Users on Make's free tier can access the template, though automation frequency and data volume limits apply based on subscription level.

The AI-Native Solopreneur: Build Without a Technical Co-Founder

Effie Bersoux presents a paradigm shift in entrepreneurship where AI enables solo founders to build, validate, and scale businesses without technical co-founders or significant capital. Drawing from Growth Girls' experience building 40+ companies in one year and going from a £4m exit (7 years) to a £40m acquisition target (1 year), she demonstrates how AI breaks the traditional capital-talent-traction loop that disadvantages undercapitalized founders. The talk provides concrete frameworks for AI-native operating models, automation decision-making, and rapid idea-to-market validation.

The Mindset Shift That's Creating AI Native Companies

Former HMRC Deputy IT Director Ashraf Murtada shares a framework for understanding AI maturity through three levels: AI Assistance (demanding specific outputs), AI Agents (autonomous systems like Team Brain that join meetings and generate documentation), and AI Coding (building complete applications in hours instead of months). The presentation includes live demos of games, internal tools, and SaaS products built rapidly with AI, arguing that software development is becoming commoditized and traditional MVP timelines are collapsing from 6 months to 6 weeks.
