Federated search now gives GlideOS users one place to find Chats, Projects and Apps across their organisation. Open it from the magnifying glass in the top-left corner or with CMD+K on a Mac and CTRL+K on a PC.
Glide introduced the feature in a LinkedIn post. Users enter search parameters and can then filter the results by Chats, Projects or Apps.
How Glide Federated Search Works
The search box sits at the GlideOS organisation level. Instead of navigating through the separate areas of GlideOS first, users can start with a query and narrow the results to the relevant type of content.
- 1
Open search
click the magnifying glass or press CMD+K on Mac or CTRL+K on PC
- 2
Enter a query
type the search parameters for the item you need
- 3
Filter the results
choose Chats, Projects or Apps
The keyboard shortcut also provides a direct route into search while working elsewhere in GlideOS. Mac and PC users have separate key combinations, while the magnifying-glass button provides the same starting point for anyone using the interface.
Each filter maps to a main part of the organisation. Chats covers conversations, Projects narrows the results to project spaces, and Apps focuses the search on apps. The announcement does not describe any additional filters, search operators or ranking controls.
Search Joins GlideOS Navigation Changes
Federated search follows Glide’s recent redesign of GlideOS Home, Projects and mobile navigation. That update changed how users move around the platform. This release adds a search-led route to the same core areas.
The feature is aimed at content held inside a GlideOS organisation rather than at records within an individual app. Its three announced filters cover organisational Chats, Projects and Apps.
