Vercel Expands Spend Management to Enterprise Flexible Commitment Plans

Spend Management is now available to Vercel Enterprise teams on Flexible Commitment plans at no additional cost. The feature was previously available on Pro plans.

According to the Vercel changelog, teams can set a budget for each billing cycle. Spend Management can then respond when metered usage approaches or crosses that amount.

How Vercel Spend Management responds to usage

Teams choose which actions Spend Management should take around a budget. Notifications can go to team members by email. Webhooks can pass the event into another system. Teams can also opt to pause production deployments across all projects.

ActionWhat happens
Email notificationTeam members receive a budget alert
WebhookVercel sends the budget event to another system
Deployment pauseProduction deployments pause across all projects

The budget covers metered usage drawn from the team’s prepaid balance. It does not stop usage by itself. Pausing production deployments is a separate, opt-in action rather than an automatic result of setting a budget.

Spend Management also has two stated exceptions. Its controls do not stop AI Gateway usage or usage from v0. Those services can therefore continue consuming usage after a team reaches its Spend Management budget or pauses production deployments.

Setting a budget

Enterprise teams on Flexible Commitment plans can set the amount from the Spend Management page in Vercel’s billing settings. The budget applies per billing cycle, and teams can change it at any time.

This gives those Enterprise teams the same spending controls already offered on Pro. The available responses cover visibility through email, automation through webhooks and an operational control through production deployment pauses.
