Vercel Connect Service Submissions Open the Directory to Builders.

Vercel Connect service submissions let users put their own services forward for the connectors directory. Users no longer have to wait for Vercel to build the connector first.

According to the Vercel changelog, every submission goes through review before it is published. A service can offer one or more connection methods using OAuth or an API key.

The change adds a submission route alongside Vercel’s existing connectors, including its managed connector for Microsoft Teams. The resulting directory listing gives other users a way to connect to the submitted service through Vercel Connect.

The submission process has four stages. Users begin on the Submit a Service page inside the Vercel dashboard, where they describe the service and configure its supported authentication methods.

OAuth methods require an extra verification step. The submitter must request a real token through a test connector for each method. API keys are supported as the other connection option listed in the announcement.

Once the configuration and checks are complete, the submission goes to Vercel. It is not published automatically. Vercel reviews it before adding it to the connectors directory.

For builders, the direct change is control over the first step. They can now describe their service, define how accounts connect and send it for review themselves, rather than waiting for Vercel to create the connector.

Publication still depends on Vercel’s review. The announcement does not give a review timeframe.
