Noloco is accelerating product development following its recent Launch Week, shipping a wave of refinements to both its AI assistant Nola and the core app-building platform in just over two weeks.
The no-code platform announced the updates on LinkedIn, calling out improvements that directly address how users interact with Nola and manage data inside their apps. The release comes after the company introduced Nola as an AI assistant for building business apps.
Nola Gets Shorter, Smarter, and More Predictable
Noloco's AI assistant now delivers shorter replies while maintaining better context, a shift that should speed up workflows for users who don't need verbose explanations. The assistant also gained smarter data generation capabilities, pulling in more context when creating records or fields.
One of the more significant changes is the introduction of a toggle between Build and Ask modes. In Build mode, users can iterate on a plan without Nola making changes automatically, a response to feedback from teams who want more control over when AI takes action. The company also improved how Nola names fields and generates formula fields, two areas where naming conventions and logic matter for long-term maintainability.
Smarter planning now produces quicker actions, and conversations can be renamed with better default names. Noloco also added a feedback form inside Nola, signaling it's treating the AI assistant as a product under active iteration.
Data Grid and App-Building Upgrades
Beyond Nola, Noloco shipped several quality-of-life improvements to its app-building experience. The User table now shows whether two-factor authentication is enabled or skipped, a small but useful visibility feature for teams managing access controls.
Number inputs and formatting in the data grid received an overhaul, and copy-paste behavior is now simpler and smarter. Date inputs became more flexible, accepting different formats instead of forcing a single pattern. Users can also refresh AI column values again, a feature that had temporarily stopped working.
The release included bug fixes for exporting lookups of multiple text fields and an issue that locked up records during bulk updates, both of which could disrupt workflows for teams managing large datasets.
Rapid Iteration After Launch Week
The pace of these updates is notable. Noloco took a team offsite shortly after Launch Week but still managed to ship multiple refinements across two product surfaces. The company framed the release as "just the highlights," suggesting more updates are coming soon.
For context, Noloco has been steadily adding features to support agency and project workflows, including native time tracking and record history in recent months. The focus on Nola suggests the company sees AI-assisted app building as a key differentiator in a space where platforms like Softr, Glide, and Bubble are also competing for no-code users.
The updates are live now for all Noloco users. The company has not shared a public roadmap but indicated in the LinkedIn post that more improvements are in development.
