About this event

What to expect

Build autonomous AI agents that own their identity, manage their own wallets, and transact on Bitcoin infrastructure. OpenClaw Hack Toronto is a one-day intensive hackathon during Toronto Tech Week where university students and alumni compete to deploy vibe-coded agents on GOAT Network mainnet — with Mac Minis and internship opportunities on the line.

The Mission

This isn't your typical "hello world" hackathon. You'll build AI agents that don't just talk — they own on-chain identities, manage crypto wallets, and execute high-value transactions autonomously using Bitcoin's 99.9% uptime and BitVM2's mathematical security. The event brings together the OpenClaw framework, GOAT Network infrastructure, and hands-on mentorship to help you ship a live, functional agent in a single day.

The Stack

You'll work with cutting-edge agent economy tools:

  • OpenClaw — The core agent framework
  • ERC-8004 — On-chain identity protocol to give your agent a soul
  • x402 — Agent-native payment rails so your agent can transact independently
  • GOAT Network — The mainnet infrastructure powering the agent economy
  • ClawUp integration — Connect your agents to Telegram and Slack

Workshop Schedule

The day kicks off at 11:00 AM at Toronto Metropolitan University (Sheldon & Tracy Levy Student Learning Centre). You'll start with context on why autonomous agents matter, followed by hands-on workshops covering ClawUp messenger integration (11:50 AM – 12:10 PM) and deploying your first 8004 & x402 on GOAT mainnet (12:10 PM – 1:20 PM). Live demos and brainstorming sessions help you move from concept to deployed code.

By 1:20 PM, the workshop ends and build time begins. You'll have five hours of heads-down development with on-site technical support from the GOAT team and mentors available via Telegram. Submissions close at 6:30 PM sharp.

Demo & Judging

At 6:40 PM, every team that wants to demo gets a 3-minute slot to present their agent. Judges deliberate for 15 minutes, then prizes are announced live. The top-performing team or individual wins a Mac Mini to power future AI development. Beyond hardware, this event opens doors to internship opportunities with OpenClaw, GOAT Network, and partner projects — plus potential mentorship to develop your hackathon project into a startup.
