Voiceflow Adds Dual-View Prompt Editor for Agent Checks

Voiceflow’s dual-view prompt editor now shows the prompt builders maintain and the plain text an AI agent receives on the same page. A toggle switches between a rendered editor and an editable source view.

The rendered editor supports headings, steps, lists and references. It gives teams a structured version of the prompt for day-to-day editing. The source view shows exactly what the agent will read as plain text.

According to the LinkedIn post, both views are editable and available through one toggle. Teams can build the prompt in its formatted form, then inspect the agent-facing version without leaving the editor.

The two views serve different readers. Builders can organise a long instruction set into sections that are easier for a team to scan and maintain. The source view exposes the resulting instructions in the form consumed by the agent.

This also creates a direct review step. After changing a heading, instruction or reference in the rendered editor, a builder can toggle to the source and check what shipped. Prompt maintenance and agent-facing verification now happen on one screen.

The update follows Voiceflow’s earlier launch of its Markdown editor and reference resources. The new dual-view setup connects that structured editing experience to a direct inspection of the prompt passed to the agent.

A Shared Prompt Review Surface

The rendered view gives non-technical team members a readable structure for reviews. The source view gives the person testing the agent access to the underlying instructions. Both people can inspect the same prompt from the same page rather than treating maintenance and verification as separate work.

The source view remains editable, so builders can make changes while inspecting the agent-facing text. They can then return to the rendered view to continue working with headings, lists and references.
