Vercel Expands Deployment Storage Billing Across Pro Teams

Deployment Storage billing is expanding to every Vercel Pro team, alongside a new 30-day default retention window. Deployment Storage and Functions Storage will each cost $0.10 per GB-month.

The change affects new and existing teams differently. New Pro teams now start with 30-day retention. Existing Pro teams will move to the same window unless they change their retention settings.

Deployment Storage Changes for Pro Teams

Vercel’s new-team changelog links the shorter default to coding agents increasing deployment frequency and the amount of deployment history stored. Teams that need more history for inspection or rollback can choose a longer period in settings.

The separate existing-team billing changelog says billing will begin soon for all existing Pro teams. Each team will receive its billing start details by email.

Pro teamRetention changeStorage billing
New teamDefaults to 30 days$0.10 per GB-month for each storage type
Existing teamChanges to 30 days unless adjustedBegins on the date sent by email
Existing team already at 30 days or lessNo retention changeBegins on the date sent by email

The retention policy can be set separately for Pre-Production, Production, Canceled and Errored deployments. This gives teams control over which deployment history they keep rather than applying one period to every deployment type.

Review Retention Before October 23

For existing Pro teams, deployments older than 30 days are scheduled for deletion starting October 23. Teams that want to preserve them need to opt out through their retention settings before that date.

Deletion is permanent. A deleted deployment cannot be restored or selected for a rollback, so the retention window affects more than the storage bill. It also decides how far back a team can inspect or return to an earlier deployment.

Teams can reduce Deployment Storage by shortening retention periods and removing older history. Longer retention remains available when a project needs a wider rollback window, but it will keep more data in billable storage.
