Momen Releases Agentic RAG Template for AI Support Bots With Native Database Integration

Momen has published a guide and cloneable project template for building agentic RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) knowledge bases, enabling users to connect AI agents directly to their native databases without external vector stores or API wrappers.

The new capability lets builders create custom AI support bots that answer questions based strictly on their own data, using Momen's visual logic and built-in database connections. The announcement on LinkedIn includes a link to the full guide and a cloneable template.

Native Database Integration for RAG Workflows

Most RAG implementations require developers to sync data into separate vector databases like Pinecone or Weaviate, then build API layers to connect the retrieval system to the AI model. Momen's approach integrates the agent directly with the platform's native database, allowing users to query their existing data structures through visual workflows.

The template demonstrates how to build an AI support bot that retrieves relevant context from a Momen database, passes it to a language model, and returns grounded responses. Users can clone the project and adapt it to their own data schemas without writing backend code or managing external infrastructure.

This follows Momen's recent release of an AI client intake system with Stripe payment integration and an AI requirements analyzer for onboarding, part of a broader push to make agentic AI workflows accessible to no-code builders.

What Agentic RAG Means for No-Code Builders

Agentic RAG refers to AI systems that can autonomously retrieve information, reason over it, and take actions based on that context. Unlike static chatbots with fixed responses, an agentic system can query a database in real time, interpret the results, and generate answers tailored to the specific data it retrieves.

For small business owners and internal tool builders, this means creating support bots that pull from product catalogs, CRM records, or internal documentation without manually updating responses or training separate models. The agent handles the retrieval and synthesis automatically.

Momen's visual logic builder lets users define these workflows without SQL queries or API calls. Builders can set conditions for when the agent should query the database, which fields to retrieve, and how to format the response, all through a drag-and-drop interface.

Template and Integration Details

The cloneable template includes preconfigured workflows for:

  • Connecting an AI agent to a Momen database table
  • Retrieving relevant records based on user queries
  • Passing retrieved data as context to a language model
  • Returning structured responses through a chat interface

Users can customize the data sources, add filters, and modify the agent's behavior through Momen's workflow editor. The template works with models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and other providers supported by Momen's AI integrations.

The guide covers setup steps, common use cases like customer support and internal knowledge bases, and best practices for prompt engineering with retrieved context. It also addresses limitations, such as handling queries that require multiple database tables or complex joins.

The template is available now through Momen's project library. Users with a Momen account can clone the project and deploy it to their own workspace. Pricing follows Momen's standard plans, with AI model usage billed separately based on the provider.
