Bradford Buildathon 2026 is a free, three-hour no-code hackathon tackling Bradford’s youth employment experience gap through AI-powered app building. Taking place on Sunday 30 August 2026, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm, this in-person buildathon gives participants the chance to turn their ideas into a working app prototype, without needing any previous coding experience. The event is organised by Nire Adetimehin and hosted in the main auditorium at Glory Community Centre, 50 Nelson Street, Broomfields, Bradford. Build a solution to a real local challenge The event focuses on a familiar barrier for jobseekers: being told that they need UK experience while struggling to find an employer willing to provide that first opportunity. Working in teams, attendees will design and prototype an app that connects people in Bradford with practical routes into employment, including: - Mentorship and professional guidance - Work-shadowing opportunities - Internships - Apprenticeships You will have just three hours to develop your response, making this a fast-paced exercise in creativity, strategy, collaboration and problem-solving. No-code tools will allow teams to concentrate on the user need and the quality of their solution rather than traditional software development. The event page also references Lovable, with support available if participants get stuck while building. What you’ll gain Alongside contributing ideas to an important challenge for Bradford, participants can expect to: - Learn practical AI, no-code and prompt engineering skills - Create a portfolio project that demonstrates critical thinking - Experience the process of taking an idea from problem definition to prototype - Collaborate with people from different professional and creative backgrounds - Network with and receive mentoring from experienced professionals Who should attend?… Register for this event
