Beehiv Adds Native Video Uploads to Community Feeds

Beehiv creators can now upload videos directly to a Community Feed. The update gives members a place to watch exclusive and early-access footage without opening an embedded video hosted elsewhere.

According to the LinkedIn announcement, native uploads are available now in Beehiiv Community.

Before this release, creators had to upload a video to YouTube, mark it as unlisted and embed the resulting link. That added an extra publishing step and left the unlisted link available to share outside the community. Native uploads keep the publishing workflow inside Beehiv.

Native video uploads shorten the publishing workflow

The change covers video formats that work better beyond a newsletter issue. Examples in the announcement include day-in-the-life footage, trailers, extended podcast conversations, music video first cuts, keynote backstage clips and requests for feedback on a new format.

The update also supports longer or less polished material, including ten-minute blooper reels and behind-the-scenes recordings. Creators can use the Community Feed for video that is intended for their members rather than a wider public audience.

What builders can do with Community video

A newsletter operator can now pair an email publication with member-only video in the same platform. A podcast publisher could post an extended conversation after sending the edited episode. A creator preparing a launch could share a trailer or first cut with members before publishing it more widely. Community feedback requests can also include the video itself rather than an external embed.

The release is focused on publishing and delivery. It removes the separate upload, visibility setting and embedding steps described in the previous workflow.
