About this event

What to expect

Mission Bit's Demo Day is where the next generation of tech innovators step into the spotlight. This showcase event brings together students from underserved communities across San Francisco to present their capstone coding projects — culminating weeks of intensive learning, mentorship, and hands-on development work. From websites addressing social issues to creatively designed video games, each project represents real solutions to real-world challenges, built by students who are daring to dream big in tech.

This in-person celebration runs from 5:30pm to 7:30pm PST and offers attendees a front-row seat to witness the transformative impact of technology education. Students will present projects across three distinct categories: Innovation, Technicality, and Social Justice. Volunteer judges from leading tech companies will evaluate each project on criteria including syntax, workability, creativity, and impact, working together to determine the winners in each category.

What Makes Demo Day Special

Demo Day isn't just a student showcase — it's a community celebration of what's possible when young people are given access to quality coding education and mentorship. Throughout the semester, these students have worked closely with dedicated instructors who've nurtured their technical skills and guided their creative vision. The projects you'll see represent the culmination of this intensive, project-based learning journey.

Whether you're a tech professional, educator, community member, or simply someone passionate about expanding access to technology education, Demo Day offers an inspiring look at the future of tech. You'll witness firsthand how coding education can open doors, build confidence, and empower students to become the innovators and changemakers our industry needs.
