What to expect

Turn a neglected workflow into a working AI automation at this hands-on Miro × n8n hackathon in New York on 28 September 2026.

Running from 2:00–7:00 PM EDT at OASIS by Workville, this fast-paced build session challenges teams to move from structured visual thinking to a functional automation in just a few hours. You will map an idea in Miro, build it with n8n, and then close the loop by having the automation write results back to the original board.

From diagram to automation

Bring a stalled work project, an under-resourced idea or a deprioritised workflow that would benefit from automation. You can arrive with an existing team or find teammates onsite. The build process has three connected stages:

  • Design in Miro: define the problem, triggers, steps and desired output as a visual workflow. The finished board becomes both your blueprint and part of your pitch.
  • Build in n8n: use AI and MCP to translate the diagram into an operational workflow, connecting services, triggering actions and moving data between systems.
  • Write back to Miro: make the workflow populate sticky notes, update cards or boards, or respond to activity taking place on the board.

The goal is to leave with either a working prototype or clear, demonstrable progress, not simply another diagram or planning document.

Demo and judging format

Each qualifying team must have at least four members and will pitch live to the judges. The final submission includes:

  • A 2.5-minute demonstration explaining the problem, automation and Miro output
  • A shared Miro board containing the workflow diagram, process map and final layout
  • An exported or shared n8n workflow showing the automation logic

Three teams will be selected as winners and receive standout prizes.

Who should take part?

This hackathon is designed for product, operations, engineering and cross-functional teams with real work to unblock. It also suits makers and automators who enjoy building under time constraints, particularly anyone who has repeatedly identified a process that “should be automated” but has never had the time or resources to tackle it.…
