What to expect

Explore the runtime infrastructure behind reliable, long-running AI agents at Daytona AI Builders in New York on 9 September 2026.

Hosted by Daytona with event partner WorkOS, this three-hour meetup brings together AI engineers, product builders, researchers and enthusiasts to examine emerging approaches to AI engineering. Expect a compact programme of technical talks followed by an extended, informal networking session with pizza and beverages.

Forkable sandboxes for AI agents

The first announced technical session comes from Muhammad Annas Hashmi, DevRel at Daytona. His talk, “Forkable Sandboxes for Long-Running Agents,” tackles a practical problem facing agent builders: useful state increasingly lives inside the machine environment, not only in an AI model’s token context.

As agents take on real software work, installing dependencies, editing files, running tests, starting servers and debugging across lengthy sessions, disposable prompt-and-response workflows become limiting. Muhammad will demonstrate how forkable Daytona sandboxes can pause an agent run at significant points, branch the environment and sample multiple continuations from the same machine state. The approach is designed to make long-running workflows easier to inspect, compare, recover and eventually optimise.

Agenda

  • 5:30–5:35pm: Welcome and opening remarks from Marijan Cipcic, Principal Events Manager at Daytona
  • 5:35–5:50pm: “Forkable Sandboxes for Long-Running Agents” with Muhammad Annas Hashmi
  • 5:50–6:50pm: Five additional short talk slots; speakers and subjects are still to be announced
  • 6:50–8:30pm: Networking with pizza and beverages

Who should attend?

This gathering is aimed at people building AI products, researching advanced algorithms or exploring the engineering foundations required for dependable agents. The technical focus will be particularly relevant to developers and AI engineers working on stateful, long-running agent systems, while the broader programme also welcomes innovators, professionals and anyone actively interested in artificial intelligence.…
