About this event

What to expect

The AI for Educators Summit brings practical, hands-on AI training for K–20 education to Teachers College, Columbia University in New York on 20 October 2026. Designed for educators who want to move beyond AI hype, this free, full-day experience focuses on the skills, strategies and tools needed to integrate artificial intelligence into teaching, learning and educational leadership.

Practical AI training for education

Co-produced by Teachers College, Columbia University and StartEd’s EDTECH WEEK, the summit combines expert insight with opportunities to explore how AI is already being applied in classrooms and educational organisations. It is suitable whether you are taking your first steps with AI or already experimenting with it and preparing to lead wider change.

Attendees can expect:

  • Hands-on workshops led by expert facilitators
  • Talks and training from speakers working across AI and education
  • Real-world examples of classroom AI applications
  • One-to-one conversations with EdTech innovators and AI product leaders
  • Focused exploration of tools and technologies shaping teaching, research and operations
  • An AI Readiness Certificate of Completion certified by Teachers College, Columbia University

Summit partners are focused on responsible, accessible uses of AI that can support students, faculty, researchers and administrators. The programme is intended to help participants enhance teaching, streamline operations and evaluate new possibilities without losing sight of practical educational needs.

Who should attend?

The event is built for educators and administrators across the K–20 landscape, including:

  • K–12 classroom educators seeking applied AI training
  • District administrators working on policy and procurement
  • Higher education faculty exploring AI in curricula and research
  • Workforce and adult-learning leaders planning upskilling initiatives
  • CTE and STEM coordinators developing future-ready pathways

Attendance is subject to eligibility criteria, so prospective participants should review the organiser’s requirements when applications open.
