What to expect

Explore how founders are using technology to reshape established industries at this two-hour panel and networking event in Cardiff.

Hosted by Cardiff Met Entrepreneurship, Meet and Mingle takes place Tuesday 10 November 2026, from 6pm to 8pm, at Cardiff Metropolitan University, Western Avenue, Cardiff CF5 2YB.

Founder stories and practical insights

The in-person panel brings together two founders using technology to solve real-world business problems:

  • Ammar Akhtar, founder of Final Rentals, a Welsh-founded car rental technology company operating in more than 65 countries. Ammar will share a perspective shaped by building and scaling an international tech business.
  • Katie Fernquest, founder of WeLaunch, a bias-free talent catalogue designed to match startup founders with specialist talent and timely business support.

Expect first-hand stories about turning ideas into action, challenging the status quo, navigating opportunities and setbacks, and the future of tech-driven innovation. The evening also includes networking and broader conversations spanning entrepreneurship, education and lessons learned.

This event is suited to founders, professionals, mentors and advocates interested in technology, startup growth and building stronger business connections. No specific experience level is stated.
