What to expect

Flutter Birmingham brings two expert talks on cross-app authentication and human performance in an AI world to Unity on 15 September 2026.

Taking place from 5:00 PM BST at Unity, 133 Bromsgrove, B5 6RG, this developer meetup combines a deep technical Flutter session with a practical exploration of resilience, leadership and performance. It is also an opportunity to meet members of the local mobile and software community in Birmingham.

One Login, Many Apps

Senior Flutter Engineer and Team Lead George Ikwegbu will unpack how independently shipped apps can recognise an existing user without presenting another shared login screen. Using two working Flutter apps,Shopfront and Companion, and a shared NestJS backend, George will demonstrate ecosystem-level single sign-on built with native platform mechanisms.

The session will cover:

  • iOS Shared Keychain Access Groups and App Group containers
  • Android AccountManager and signature-level ContentProviders
  • Why backend OAuth 2.0 token verification remains essential
  • Passing a non-sensitive session signal through native platform channels
  • Giving users a clear choice between continuing an existing session and logging in manually
  • Production pitfalls including signing mismatches, same-device testing and token-scope discipline

The demonstrated architecture uses Flutter, Provider, GetIt, Clean Architecture and NestJS. George brings more than five years of production mobile experience across fintech, mobility and IoT, and most recently led mobile engineering at Reisty Inc.

Pressure to Performance in an AI World

Leadership and resilience coach Krishna Ruparelia, founder of Unshakable Resilience, will examine the human side of working through rapid AI-led change. Drawing on psychology, neuroscience, leadership experience and practical tools, Krishna will explain how pressure affects innovation, decision-making, collaboration and connection.

Attendees will explore self-awareness, stress regulation, psychological safety and the capabilities that AI cannot replace: creativity, connection, curiosity and compassion. Krishna has more than 25 years of experience in people development and organisational performance, supporting organisations including Jaguar Land Rover, HSBC, Santander, Warwick Business School and Birmingham City University.
