What to expect

DevOpsDays Barcelona marks its return to Barcelona in 2026 after more than a decade away, bringing together software developers, infrastructure engineers, and operations professionals for an evening focused on real-world DevOps challenges. This April meetup features two technical deep-dives hosted by ERNI Consulting at El Triangle in the heart of Plaça de Catalunya.

What to Expect

The evening kicks off at 18:30 with two practical talks addressing common DevOps pain points. Oliana Cintas, Senior IT Consultant at ERNI, demonstrates how to build a fully functional personal data center using Proxmox for under €250. This "HomeLab" session walks through deploying a production-grade CI/CD pipeline using GitLab, LXC containers, and Terraform, proving that mastering enterprise DevOps doesn't require an enterprise budget. With 8+ years in automotive and maker communities, Oliana brings hands-on expertise to breaking down the intimidating "barrier to entry" many face in DevOps.

Following this, Julia Lamenza, a Senior SRE and Cloud Architect with 13 years of infrastructure experience, tackles the critical issue of cloud cost management in "FinOps from Code." She explores how to shift cost awareness left by integrating Infracost with Terraform workflows, enabling engineering teams to understand the financial impact of infrastructure changes during pull requests—before they hit production. This approach prevents the common scenario where cloud costs only become visible after deployment.

Event Format

The meetup runs from 18:30 to 21:00, with 45-minute technical sessions followed by dedicated networking time with snacks. DevOpsDays Barcelona emphasises community-driven content—no marketing pitches, just real engineering insights from practitioners solving actual problems. The broader DevOpsDays movement worldwide focuses on connecting software development and IT operations through both structured talks and unconference-style "Open Spaces" where attendees set the agenda.

Who Should Attend

This event suits DevOps engineers, SREs, cloud architects, infrastructure specialists, and developers interested in automation, cost optimisation, and building professional-grade environments. Whether you're looking to reduce cloud spending, experiment with homelab infrastructure, or connec
